Cobra Killer is a German digital hardcore duo from Berlin formed in 1998. The group consists of Gina V. D'Orio and Annika Line Trost, who were previously members of the groups EC8OR and Shizuo. Their debut album, Cobra Killer (1998), featured distorted electronic elements and vocal samples. The group toured Europe and became known for performances in which they wore nurse outfits. In 2004, the duo released the album 76/77, which combined elements of rockabilly and psychedelic rock. Cobra Killer collaborated with the Kapajakos mandolin orchestra for the album Das Mandolinenorchester (2005). Their recordings include the album The Third Armpit (2002) and the album Uppers and Downers (2009), the latter of which featured contributions from Thurston Moore, Jon Spencer, and J Mascis. The group performed with artists including Sonic Youth and Marilyn Manson.
