Waiphot Phetsuphan (born Phan Sakulnee on March 7, 1942, in Suphan Buri) was a Thai luk thung and Phleng Lae singer, songwriter, and producer. Phetsuphan began a professional musical career in 1962. Recognized for his mastery of the phleng lae genre, Phetsuphan received the National Artist of Thailand award in 1997. Notable songs recorded by Phetsuphan include “Taeng Thao Tai”, “Fang Khao Thit Kaeo”, and “Baeng Sombat”. Phetsuphan mentored “Queen of Luk thung” Pumpuang Duangjan, for whom he composed the hit “Nak Rong Baan Nork”. Significant recorded works include the albums แหล่ประวัติพุ่มพวง (1992), ท็อปฮิต อมตะเสียงสวรรค: หัวอกโชเฟอร์ (1993), and ลูกทุ่งเบรคแตก (1995). Phetsuphan collaborated with Tossapol Himmapan on the 2000 song “Nak Sang Seeka”. Phetsuphan died in Bangkok on January 12, 2022, at the age of 79.
