Tia Wood is a Canadian Cree and Salish pop singer-songwriter born in the Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Alberta, Canada, on July 7, 1999. The daughter of Earl Wood—a member of the round dance group Northern Cree—and the younger sister of singer Fawn Wood, she grew up in Saddle Lake. Wood initially gained public prominence on TikTok by posting videos of her Indigenizing contemporary musical sounds, leading to her signing with Sony Music Canada as the first Indigenous woman in the label's history. She released her debut extended play, Pretty Red Bird, on September 27, 2024, which featured the singles “Dirt Roads”, “Losing Game”, and “Catch & Release”. The extended play earned her a Juno Award nomination for Contemporary Indigenous Artist of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2025. Wood was also active as an advocate for the REDress Project to raise awareness for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women crisis. In May 2026, she performed her single “Sage My Soul” during the In Memoriam segment at the fourteenth Canadian Screen Awards.
