Bernardo Sandoval, born in May 1958 in Castile and Leon, Spain, is a Franco-Spanish guitarist, singer-songwriter, and composer who grew up in Toulouse, France, after his family's exile in 1960. He began playing guitar at the age of 14 and graduated in 1978 from the flamenco chair of Cordoba, receiving the Cordoba Guitar Prize. In 1979, he won first prize at the National Competition of La Union and formed a performing duo with Salvador Paterna. His recording career began in the 1990s, and his albums include Camino del Alba, Caracola, Amor, and Alianza, with Amor featuring a collaboration with a jazz trio. His extensive tours spanned Europe, Africa, and the Americas, supporting artists such as Didier Lockwood, Michel Jonasz, and Camarón de la Isla. He was discovered at the Printemps de Bourges festival in 1988, and his achievements include winning a César Award in 1998 for his original score for the film Western. His other film score compositions include Marie Baie des Anges, Marie-Line, La Fille de Keltoum, and Le Café du pont, which was released on August 4, 2010.
