Takeshi Terauchi, known professionally as Terry, born January 17, 1939, in Tsuchiura, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, was a Japanese instrumental rock guitarist. He began his career playing rhythm guitar at American military bases with ensembles like the Honshu Cowboys and Jimmie Tokita & His Mountain Playboys. In 1962, Terauchi formed The Blue Jeans, releasing their debut album Surfing (1963). After leaving The Blue Jeans in 1966 due to exhaustion, he formed The Bunnys and released the album Lets Go Terry! (1966). He won the arrangement award at the 9th Japan Record Awards in 1967 for the song "Let's Go Unmei". Terauchi left The Bunnys in 1968 but reformed The Blue Jeans in 1969, and the band was active until 2021. Notable albums include The World is Waiting for Terry (1967), Electric Guitar No Subete (All of the Electric Guitar) (1969), and Mr. Legend (2008). Terauchi passed away on June 18, 2021.
