Originally from Reunion Island, Shad Hottaboy joined a DJ school in Lyon in 2014 and took part in sound-system competitions. Ready for the stage, he developed a program based on animation before launching into dancehall, with his varied style blending hip-hop, electro, moombahton, afro-zouk and raggamuffin influences. A regular at clubs and festivals, in 2022 he made his first Zenith tour, visiting five venues and setting up his own label, Hottaprod. The duet "Dégâts " with Limo in 2023 was followed by "Diabla" with Cuban singer Lazaro, then "Tout fait pour toi" with MCBOX and "Control" with Jogga in 2024. In 2025, he reunited with MCBOX for "Ego" and scored his first hit with "C'est OK", a duet with Junior that reached No. 23 in the SNEP overseas charts in early 2026.
