The East Pointers, a Canadian contemporary folk music group from Prince Edward Island, were formed in 2014 by guitarist Jake Charron, banjoist Koady Chaisson, and fiddler Tim Chaisson. The trio began performing in Atlantic Canada before expanding their tours to Ontario following their growing popularity in eastern provinces. Their debut album, Secret Victory, was released in late 2015. The band subsequently won the Canadian Folk Music Award for Ensemble of the Year in 2016 and the Juno Award for Traditional Roots Album of the Year at the Juno Awards for Secret Victory in 2017. During the COVID-19 pandemic, The East Pointers coordinated livestreamed weekly readings of Anne of Green Gables, featuring guest readers. Koady Chaisson passed away suddenly in January 2022. Following his death, the band released their JUNO-nominated EP House Of Dreams in September 2022 and their follow-up EP Safe in Sound in November 2023.
