Neil Merryweather (born 27 December 1945 in Winnipeg) was a Canadian rock singer, bassist, and songwriter. He launched his career in Toronto during the 1960s as Bobby Neilson, performing with groups such as The Mynah Birds and The Flying Circus. In 1968, he moved to Los Angeles and formed the band Merryweather, releasing the double album Word of Mouth in 1969. The record reached number 199 on the Billboard 200 and featured collaborations with Steve Miller and Charlie Musselwhite. During the 1970s, he led the bands Mama Lion and Space Rangers, releasing albums such as Space Rangers and Kryptonite. Later in his career, he collaborated with Janne Stark on the album Volume Three, contributing vocals to the track "Hey Serena/Wheel of Fortune Turning". His final projects included the Merryweather Stark albums Carved in Rock (2018) and Rock Solid (2020). He died on 28 March 2021, Las Vegas.
