Johan Asherton is a French singer-songwriter and musician born on January 3, 1958, in Paris. He achieved professional recognition for a musical career characterized by folk and for being a former member of the ensemble The Froggies. Asherton achieved professional recognition for a career that began after being raised by classical musicians and being inspired by the musician Jimi Hendrix to play the electric guitar. He achieved professional recognition for his debut solo single "Harlequin" (1981) and forming the garage-punk ensemble The Froggies. Their recording career included the studio recording Hour of the Froggies (1984) and the studio recording Get Frogg'd (1985). Asherton achieved professional recognition for a transition to acoustic folk music in the mid-1980s inspired by the musician Nick Drake and the musician Townes Van Zandt. His solo recording career began with the debut studio recording God's Clown (1988) followed by the studio recording Precious (1989). Their discography included the studio recording Amber Songs (2005) and the tribute recording Cosmic Dancer: A Tribute to Marc Bolan (2007). The artist achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Passiontide (2020) and the studio recording Matinee Idols (2024).
