Ari-Mikko "Mikko" Kuustonen, born March 4, 1960, in Leppävirta, is a Finnish singer-songwriter best known for his solo career and his work with the bands Pro Fide and Q.Stone. After debuting as a solo artist in 1979, he rose to wider prominence in the early 1990s, releasing eleven studio albums, including three certified gold and one platinum, with combined sales exceeding 230,000 copies. His best-known songs include "Enkelit lentää sun uniin," "Kaktusviinaa," and "Taivas varjele." Beyond music, Kuustonen has traveled extensively in developing countries, producing reports for newspapers, radio, and television. He received the Juha Vainio Award in 2011 in recognition of his achievements as a songwriter. After a nine-year hiatus, he returned with Agricolankatu 11 in 2017. In 2022, Kuustonen published his autobiography, Mikko Kuustonen, omaelämäkerta, accompanied by a CD featuring ten new songs, while the audiobook edition included an original soundscape composed specifically for the project.
