Choi Soo Young, born on February 10, 1990, is a South Korean actress and a member of the idol group Girls' Generation. Her career began with a notable entry in the "ASAYAN" TV program's "Japan-Korea Ultra Idol Duo Audition" in 2001, leading her to debut in Japan as part of the idol duo "route0" under Ryuichi Kawamura's production from 2002 to 2003. After "route0" disbanded, Soo Young returned to South Korea to join SM Entertainment and debuted as a member of Girls' Generation in 2007. Throughout her career, Soo Young has ventured into acting, appearing in dramas such as Unstoppable Marriage and Dating Agency: Cyrano. She balanced her entertainment activities with academic pursuits, graduating from Chung-Ang University's Department of Theater and Film in 2016. Soo Young has also hosted several TV shows, enhancing her visibility and versatility within the industry. In addition to her group activities, she has continued to make strides as a solo artist, making her Japanese solo debut in October 2024 with the single "Unstoppable" marking her third debut in Japan following her activities with "route0" and Girls' Generation.
