Black Missionaries (formed in Blantyre) is a Malawian reggae band. The group was established by Evison Matafale, Peter Amidu, and Musamude, Anjilu, and Chizondi Fumulani. Based in Chileka, the ensemble gained recognition for a reggae sound featuring local influences. Their discography included ten albums in the Kuimba series, ranging from Kuimba III to Kuimba XIII. These recordings frequently addressed themes of love and Rastafari issues, including the song "Police Hunt Matafale". The band established a reputation for live performances across Malawi, including shows in Chiwembe. Matafale died while in police custody on 7 November 2001. Musamude Fumulani died of tuberculosis on 17 September 2007. Following these losses, the remaining founding members continued the group's professional recording and performance career.
