Sandy Müller, known professionally as Lyambiko, was born in 1978 in Greiz, Thüringen, Germany, and is a jazz singer. After studying saxophone, clarinet, and classical voice, she founded her first band at 17 and secured a studio recording by winning a contest. After a hiatus, she relocated to Berlin, where she studied voice and piano, built a repertoire of jazz standards, and performed in local clubs. She subsequently became the vocalist of Lyambiko, a quartet that toured Germany, Europe, and the United States. Her debut album Out of this Mood (2002) was released by Nagel‑Heyer Records, followed by Shades of Delight (2003).
