Michael von der Heide is a Swiss singer and actor born on October 16, 1971, in Amden. He began his recording career with the single "Erfolg" (1996) and the single "Mit dir leben" (1996). Von der Heide participated in the German national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 with the song "Bye Bye Bar" and finished in fifth place. His discography included the studio recording 2pièces (2005) and the single "Ruggewind" (2006). He represented Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "Il pleut de l'or" (2010). He participated in the second semi-final but did not qualify for the final. Von der Heide has collaborated with several artists, performing a duet with Kuno Lauener on the song "Where the Wild Roses Grow" (2000) and a duet with Nina Hagen on the song "Kriminaltango" (2002).
