Arnaud Le Gouëfflec, born in 1974 in Brest, is a French singer, writer and musician whose career spans music, novels, comic-book scripts and theatre. After earning a CAPES in 1994, he taught French at schools in Saint-Renan and Portsall before devoting himself fully to his creative work in 2019. He first played guitar in the Brest group Le Petit Fossoyeur, contributing to the 1999 album Le Petit Fossoyeur and the 2001 release Le Petit Fossoyeur dans l’espace. In 2002 he co-founded the label L’Église de la petite folie with Maëlle Le Gouëfflec, and went on to make solo albums in his self-built “prehistoric studio”, such as La Vie sous cloche (2002), Petite mécanique de nuit (2003) and Le Chanteur masqué (2004). He expanded his output with collaborations: Un mythe moderne (2008) with the electronic musician Moregeometrico, Le Disque Vert (2009) featuring Eugene Chadbourne among others, and the dreamlike folk record Deux fois dans le même fleuve (2015) with John Trap and Olivier Polard. In 2015 he also released Christian rock fièvre with the garage group Jorge Bernstein and the pioupioufuckers, and his later records include L’Orage in 2020 with Thomas Poli, Olivier Mellano, Régïs Boulard and ooTi, and the children’s record Pirate Patate in 2021. He remains active in comics as well, with Glénat titles published in 2024 and 2025.
