Gerhard Schöne, born on January 10, 1952, in Coswig bei Dresden, Germany, is a singer and songwriter. Raised in an evangelical pastor's family, Schöne began his career as a lay actor. He applied to the Staatliche Schauspielschule in Berlin but was rejected for refusing military service; he later pursued a distance learning program at the "Carl Maria von Weber" Musikhochschule in Dresden. His musical breakthrough came with the release of the album Spar deinen Wein nicht auf für morgen (1981) on Amiga Records.
