The Be Good Tanyas, a Canadian folk group formed in Vancouver in 1999, comprised Frazey Ford, Samantha Parton, and Trish Klein. Their first breakthrough came with the 2001 release of Blue Horse, which featured the single "In Spite of All the Damage." The group followed with Chinatown in 2003 and Hello Love in 2006. The band's work was also featured in television series like The L Word, Weeds, and The Eleventh Hour. After a 2008 hiatus, the band returned to performance in 2011. In 2012, they issued the retrospective A Collection (2000–2012), adding two new songs, and toured North America and Europe.
