Klaus Kugel

Klaus Kugel, born on July 6, 1959, is a German jazz musician. He first gained recognition as a member of Nightwork with Dizzy Krisch and Klaus Roggors, then worked as a studio musician and collaborated with Cologne artists Reiner Winterschladen, Roger Hanschel, Christian Ramond, Dieter Manderscheid, and Christian Bollmann. In 1986 he joined the Michel Pilz/Itaru Oki Quartet, and from 1989 he performed with Lithuanian saxophonist Petras Vyšniauskas in several international ensembles. His discography includes the 2021 album At the Fields Edge with Theo Jörgensmann and recordings with Tomasz Stańko, Zbigniew Namysłowski, and Perry Robinson.
