Silkstone, a Dutch pop band formed in 1996 by singer Niels Geusebroek and guitarist Frans van Essen, initially experienced limited success before being signed to Sony BMG in 2001. Their breakthrough came with the single "Ready" (2002), which gained heavy radio play and became their first charting hit. The band's debut album For a Reason was released in 2003 and sold over 15,000 copies. Silkstone toured extensively across Europe, the United States, and Russia. Their subsequent album, Here in Your World, was released in 2008 with the title track as its lead single. The band disbanded in 2009 after a 13-year career. Post-breakup, Geusebroek pursued a solo career, reaching the semi-finals of The Voice of Holland in 2012 and contributing vocals to Wildstylez's hit "Year of Summer", while Van Essen established a company focusing on sound design, production, and songwriting, collaborating with various artists.
