Slobodná Európa is a Slovak punk-rock band from Bratislava. Formed in 1989 in Czechoslovakia, the group was founded by Braňo Alex, Svetozár Korbeľ, Peter Hurtig and Miloslav Láber. The ensemble released its debut album Pakáreň through the label Opus Records in 1991. Their second album, Unavení a zničení (1994), was characterized by a darker sound influenced by the members' drug use. Following a hiatus between 1995 and 2002, the band reformed and released the albums Trojka (2003) and Štvorka (2014). Their recordings included the compilation Bestofka (2006) and the pieces “Relatívny pokoj” and “Kapitalizmus”. Drummer Juraj Černý died in 2016 and Alex died in 2021.
