Kerion is a French symphonic metal band from Nice that formed in 1997 under the name Kirlian. Originally an instrumental progressive metal group, the band shifted toward speed metal in 2000 and changed their name to Kerion in 2002 following the recruitment of vocalist Flora Spinelli. Their first demo, Conspiracy of Darkness, was released in 2003, followed by The Last Sunset (2005), which featured guest musician Phil Giordana. The group's debut studio album, Holy Creatures Quest, was released in 2008 on the label Thundering Records, followed by The Origins (2010). In 2012, Kerion began a new conceptual series with the album CloudRiders Part 1: Road to Skycity, which featured a 40-person choir. The band continued the series with the albums CloudRiders, Part 2: Technowars (2015) and CloudRiders: Age Of Cyborgs (2022).
