Green Milk from the Planet Orange, a Japanese band from Tokyo, formed in 2001 after members A and Dead K sought a new musical direction after their previous band No Rest for the Dead dissolved. In 2001, they released their first EP, The Shape of Rock to Come, followed by their debut album, Birth of the Neo Trip, in 2002. The band's lineup evolved, with Benjian joining as bassist in 2001 and later being replaced by T in 2003. In 2004, they signed with Beta-lactam Ring Records and released He's Crying Look. Despite internal conflicts leading to their disbandment in 2008, the group reformed in December 2016 with a new bassist, Wadamori Yu. Other notable albums include City Calls Revolution (2005), You Take Me to the World (2006), and Third (2019).
