Into a Circle, an English new wave duo, was formed in April 1985 by Paul "Bee" Hampshire and Barry Jepson. Their career began with their first concert at the Croydon Underground in December 1985, coinciding with the release of their single "Rise..." (1986), which reached number 5 on the UK Indie Singles Chart. In July 1986, they signed with Abstract Records and released their single "Inside Out", which peaked at number 12. Their third single, "Forever" (1987), co-produced by Larry Steinbeck of Bronski Beat, reached number 8. This was followed by their debut studio album Assassins in 1988, which hit number 7 on the UK Indie Albums Chart. Into a Circle disbanded after their final tour in September 1989 and officially broke up in October of that year. The band reformed in 2021, releasing Steel Box in 2022.
