Virgos Merlot was an American hard rock band formed in 1998. Before the formation of the band, many of its members were part of The Devine, which later disbanded. Their debut album, Signs of a Vacant Soul, was released in 1999. Following the release, the original lineup disbanded but later reformed as simply Virgos, self-releasing an album titled The Path of Least Resistance. The band eventually disbanded in 2002. After touring with Creed, Brett Hestla joined Dark New Day in 2004. Members Jason Marchant, JD Charlton, and Chase Davidson went on to form Red Halo, while Chris Dickerson played bass for Downstem and Course of Nature. In October 2008, four original members announced a reunion show on January 9, 2009, in Birmingham, Alabama. However, Ted "Deacon" Ledbetter died from complications related to diabetes in November 2009, leaving the band's future uncertain.
