Mathilde Santing, born Mathilde Eleveld on October 24, 1958, in Amstelveen, Netherlands, is a Dutch singer. She gained national attention in 1981 after appearing on the television program Sonja Op Maandag. Her debut album, Mathilde Santing, was released in 1982. In 1987, she released Out of This Dream and its companion EP Out of This Dream: A Third Side. Notable singles from this period include "You Took Advantage of Me" (1982) and "Too Much" (1985). Santing won the BV Pop Prize at Noorderslag in 1986, becoming the first artist to receive this award. In 1993, she released Texas Girl & Pretty Boy, featuring 14 songs by Randy Newman. Throughout her career, she has won three Edison Awards and a Gouden Harp, and was knighted by Queen Beatrix in 2007 with the Order of Oranje-Nassau.
