Kim Dong-hyun, also known by the name Donghyun, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and actor. He was born on September 17, 1998, in Jung District, Daejeon. He made his splash in the entertainment world with his appearance on the second season of the reality competition show Produce 101. The show is staged around forming a boy group chosen by the public from a pool of 101 contestants. He finished in 28th place. However, he joined forces with fellow musician Lim Young-min to work as a duo named MXM (an acronym for Mix & Match). MXM released their single “Good Day,” followed by their debut EP Unmix (2017). In 2019, he joined a new boy group from the Brand New Music agency. The group would be named AB6IX, and they made their debut with the EP B:Complete (2019). Later that year, the group released their album 6ixense. Throughout this time, Kim Dong-hyun would also work as an actor on television shows such as Let Me Be Your Knight and the web series Fling at the Convenience Store. In 2020, Kim Dong-hyun released the solo single “More” while still being part of AB6IX. He would continue releasing solo singles and singles with AB6IX such as “Maybe,” “Some,” “3,” and “Venus.” In 2022, Kim Dong-hyun participated in the compilation album Kook-Ka-Bu, Pt. 2, contributing the opening track “Western Sky.”
