Salvo was an American pop-punk, punk rock, and rock band originally formed in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in 1994 under the name Pain. The group was established by high school friends Dan Lord, Mark “Pose” Milewicz, and Adam Guthrie. Lord performed as the lead vocalist and songwriter, with Milewicz on bass guitar and Guthrie on guitar. They expanded their lineup to include drummer George Kennedy and keyboardist Liz Milewicz, performing on MTV2 and sharing stages with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. In 1998, they were contracted by Ted Turner to record original music for the cartoon Jabberjaw. Their recording career included the studio albums Midgets with Guns (1997), Wonderful Beef (1997), and Full Speed Ahead (1999). During a concert in 1999, their performance was stopped mid-song by the band Train. In 2000, Lord dissolved the band to pursue his Master of Theology at the University of Dallas. After a nineteen-year hiatus, Lord and Guthrie reunited with several former members to form a new lineup under the name Salvo, choosing the name after Milewicz declined to rejoin the group. They released their debut studio album under the new name, Off the Charts, in 2019, followed by two additional studio albums before formally disbanding in 2026.
