Port O'Brien was an American musical group combining elements of acoustic, folk, and indie rock. The group was named after a bay in Alaska where founder member Van Pierszalowski's parents met. The group initially consisted of Cambria Goodwin and Van Pierszalowski, who started as a folk music duo before adding Caleb Nichols and Joshua Barnhart to the rhythm section. Their debut album When the Rain Comes was released on Tecolote Records in 2005. Following this, they released several albums including The Wind and the Swell (2007), All We Could Do Was Sing (2008), and Threadbare (2009). Notable singles include "I Woke Up Today" and "Close the Lid". The band toured nationally with artists such as Nada Surf, Bright Eyes, and Modest Mouse. In 2011, the band dissolved.
