Jasper Høiby, born 10 May 1977 in Copenhagen, is a Danish jazz double‑bass player and composer. He began playing the double bass in Denmark and moved to the United Kingdom in 2001 to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London under Milton Mermikides, where he entered the London jazz scene. In 2005 he co‑founded the trio Phronesis, releasing Organic Warfare (2007) and Green Delay (2009) before the breakthrough Alive (2010). Jasper Høiby has issued several releases as a leader, including Fellow Creatures with the band of the same name (2016), Planet B (2020) and What It Means to Be Human (2022) with Planet B. Later, he formed Jasper Høiby's 3 Elements, which recorded Earthness (2023), Like Water (2024) and Conversations of Hope (2026). In 2025, he reformed Jasper Høiby's Fellow Creatures for We Must Fight.
