Şövkət Feyzulla qızı Ələkbərova, known as Şövkət Ələkbərova, was born on October 20, 1922, in Baku, Azerbaijan. She began her musical journey by taking up kamancha lessons at a young age and became one of the finalists at a contest judged by prominent figures such as Uzeyir Hajibeyov and Bulbul in 1937. This performance marked her first stage appearance and led to her joining the newly formed Azerbaijan State Choir under Hajibeyov's guidance. During World War II, Ələkbərova performed patriotic war songs for soldiers across various locations including Stalingrad and Ukraine. By 1945, she was working with the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Society. In the 1950s, she gained recognition as a leading Azerbaijani singer of both folk and composed songs. Her repertoire included works in Azeri, Persian, Arabic, and Turkish. She toured extensively across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
