Symphonian, a Gothic metal band, was formed in 2008 in Ukraine by guitarist and keyboardist Dmitry Merva and vocalist Lana Sokolova. The duo released a self‑published demo in 2009, featuring drummer Andrey Porkhun and bassist‑vocalist Vjacheslav Kuz’. The band’s debut studio album, Incarnation of Reality, was issued in 2011 through Endless Winter, and received critical acclaim. Symphonian’s activity ceased later that year, and the group disbanded in 2011. The band remains noted for its contribution to the early 2010s Ukrainian gothic‑metal scene, with its heavy riffs and atmospheric keyboards.
