Formed in 2012 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ainda is an indie pop duo consisting of Esmeralda Escalante and Yago Escrivá. Their musical journey began with the release of their debut album, UNO, in 2013, followed by Segundo in 2015, which featured collaborations with artists like Maya Belsitzman and Matan Ephrat. In 2018, they released Animal, an album that incorporated pop elements and included contributions from Iñaki Colombo of Bándalos Chinos and El Zar; this work earned them a nomination for Best Alternative Pop Album at the Premios Gardel. Their fourth album, Millones, arrived in 2020, showcasing their evolving sound. In 2023, they unveiled Te Quiero, featuring collaborations with Perotá Chingó, Bándalos Chinos, El Zar, Conociendo Rusia, and Feli Colina. Beyond their studio work, Ainda has graced stages across Europe, Latin America, and the United States. Notably, they were invited by Jorge Drexler to open his shows in Buenos Aires and São Paulo, leading to the joint single "Primavera" in 2019. Additionally, they accompanied Spanish musician Leiva on his "Cuando te muerdes el labio" tour during 2022 and 2023, culminating in the collaborative track "Éramos lo más." In early 2025, they released their most ambitious project to date, the album Fuimos los dos, produced by Nico Cotton and Nico Btesh, with orchestral arrangements by Leo and Luna Sujatovich. This album involved over 25 musicians and reflects a return to the duo's essence, blending rich instrumentation with emotive narratives.
