Hipodil, a Bulgarian rock band, was founded in 1988 in Sofia by four classmates from the local Mathematics High School. The group gained initial attention with their first public performance at Sofia's Summer Theatre, where they played "Zidaromazachi", a parody of the ruling communist regime. In 1992, after recruiting vocalist Svetoslav Vitkov, Hipodil released several notable songs including "Bira s vodka" and "Himna". Their debut studio album Alkoholen delirium was released in 1993, followed by a national tour. The band's controversial lyrics and live performances contributed to their "scandal aura." Following Vitkov's departure in 1999, Hipodil released Hora ot naroda in 2000.
