Maïdi Roth, born Emmanuelle Caccamo on 3 March 1971 in Strasbourg, France, is a French singer-songwriter and actress. After 10 years of violin and piano training at the conservatoire, she relocated to Paris at 19, forming a band while studying literature and securing a contract with Universal; a cassette of her early work landed in the hands of director Gérard Krawczyk, who cast her in the lead role of Héroïnes and asked her to compose the film’s complete score. Her first studio album, On Fait Comme On A Dit, was released in 2000, followed by Polaroïd (2002), Horizon vertical (2005), Un peu plus que moi (2008) and Parlez‑Moi de Vous (2012). Singles such as "Je Tétanize" (2005), "Pour La Beauté Du Geste" (2006) and "Le Soleil Me Touche" (2008) showcased her lyrical style, while "Pour La Beauté Du Geste" served as the theme for France Télévisions’ sports coverage from 2006 to 2014, featuring on Roland‑Garros, the Tour de France and the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Roth’s compositions extend to numerous French films-including Taxi 2 (2000) and Parlez‑Moi de Vous (2012)-and television projects like Plus Belle la Vie.
