Özay Fecht, born in 1953, in Istanbul, Turkey, was a singer, actress, and educator known for her work in classical music and jazz. At the age of eighteen, she moved to Germany where she attended a private mime school and worked with a theater group. In the 1980s, Fecht released several albums including No More (1985) and Moves with Doug Hammond (1988). She gained significant recognition in the 1990s when she collaborated with notable musicians such as Steve Lacy and John Betsch. During this period, she released the album Antiquated Love (1995), which showcased her versatility as a jazz singer. Fecht also had a parallel career as an actress, appearing in various film and television roles.
