Latte E Miele, an Italian progressive rock group from Genoa, was formed in 1971 by former opera tenor Arnaldo Lombardo and drummer Alfio Vitanza. The band’s breakthrough came with the 1972 concept album Passio secundum Mattheum, which blended Bach‑inspired motifs with Gospel recitatives. In 1973, they released Papillon, toured extensively, and disbanded briefly in 1974. The group reassembled in 1976 as Latte Miele, issuing Aquile e scoiattoli, which featured the 23‑minute suite "Pavana"; this period marked a shift toward pop‑rock. After disbanding again in the early 1980s, the original lineup reunited in 2008, leading to the release of the live album Live Tasting (2008) and the albums Marco Polo : Sogni e viaggi (2009) and Passio secundum Mattheum – The Complete Work (2014).
