A trumpeter, singer, composer and producer, Till Brönner (born in Viersen, Germany, May 6, 1971) embraces a variety of roles, from bebop-influenced jazz and fusion to the jazz pop permitted by his crooner's voice. After his first album, Generations of Jazz, released in 1993, the German musician multiplied his collaborations (Dave Brubeck, Ray Brown, Joachim Kühn, Natalie Cole, Nils Landgren) and pursued a flourishing career, both at home and abroad. The album Midnight (1997), recorded with Michael Brecker, was followed by cascading successes: Blue-Eyed Soul (2002), That Summer (2004, best-selling German jazz album) and Oceana (2006), featuring Madeleine Peyroux and Carla Bruni. After the inevitable Christmas Album (2007), which became one of his bestsellers, came Rio (2008), on which Till Brönner invited Brazilian stars such as Vanessa da Mata, Luciana Souza, Sergio Mendes and Milton Nascimento, as well as Annie Lennox, Melody Gardot, Aimee Mann and Kurt Elling. Subsequent albums, At the End of the Day (2010) and Till Brönner (2012), are both critically acclaimed. The Movie Album (2014) explores the great themes of cinema, followed by the jazz standards of The Good Life (2016). He collaborates successively with double bassist Dieter Ilg for Nightfall (2018) and pianist Bob James for On Vacation (2020), before recording a second album of musical pieces dedicated to Christmas, Christmas (2021). Four years later, the collection of Italian chanson classics Italia is released, featuring contributions from Mario Biondi, Giovanni Zarrella, Chiara Civello, Mandy Capristo and Sera Kalo.
