Rentrer en Soi was a Japanese visual kei metal group formed in 2001 in Japan, comprising vocalist Satsuki, lead guitarist Takumi, bassist Ryo, rhythm guitarist Shun (formerly Ao), and drummer Mika; the band was active until its dissolution in 2008. Their early work began with the EP Yurikago in 2004, followed by the releases of Kein no Hitsugi and Astre no Ito the same year, which established their presence in the underground scene. The debut studio album Sphire Croid was issued on 26 January 2005, and the self‑titled album Rentrer en Soi followed on 31 May 2006, both receiving attention on niche charts and solidifying their reputation for blending progressive, gothic, and metalcore elements. In 2006 the group signed with the European label Gan‑Shin, and in 2007 they released The Bottom of Chaos on 1 August, accompanied by a tour that included a performance at Oni‑Con in Houston on 19 October. Their final studio effort, Ain Soph Aur, appeared on 19 November 2008 as a best‑of compilation, while the EP Megiddo was issued on 22 October 2008. Rentrer en Soi announced its breakup on 17 September 2008, with the last scheduled concert on 25 December 2008, after which the members pursued separate projects, including Satsuki’s solo career and Takumi’s and Mika’s participation in Sukekiyo.
