Aluminium was a music project founded in 2005 by Richard Russell and Joby Talbot, focusing on orchestral reworkings of The White Stripes' music. The duo presented their initial work, including tracks like "Aluminum" and "I'm Bound to Pack it Up", to Jack White of The White Stripes in Cincinnati. The project resulted in a single self-titled album released in November 2006, featuring orchestral arrangements recorded by a specially selected orchestra. The album was produced in limited quantities: 3,333 CDs and 999 LPs, each containing artwork by Rob Jones. Additionally, the album was available for unlimited download. A single release on November 13, 2006, included "Aluminum" and a remix of "Forever For Her (Is Over For Me)" by Four Tet. The project ended in 2006 following the release of the album.
