Long Fin Killie, a Scottish indie rock band active between 1993 and 1998, consisted of Luke Sutherland, Colin Greig, David Turner, and Philip Cameron. The group's core lineup was later joined by Kenneth McEwan on drums. Their debut EP Buttergut was released in 1994, followed by their first album Houdini the next year. Long Fin Killie gained critical acclaim for their complex music and Sutherland’s cryptic lyrics delivered in an androgynous falsetto voice. The band's second LP, Valentino, was released in 1996 and included contributions from Mark E. Smith of The Fall on "The Heads of Dead Surfers". In late 1996, a tour bus accident severely injured Sutherland. The band’s final album, Amelia, was released in 1997 and featured more conventional song structures. Long Fin Killie disbanded shortly afterward, with members pursuing various solo projects.
