Dem 2 is the name of UK garage musician Dean Boylan. Originally a duo consisting of Boylan and Spencer Edwards from Thurrock Essex, the project became a solo venture in 2011, when Boylan continued releasing material under the moniker. The pair founded the record label New York Soundclash Records in 1994, and released the 12" vinyl “Reach”. The duo’s breakthrough came with the single “Destiny” (1998) which reached number 58 on the UK Singles Chart and Number 1 on the UK Dance Singles Chart. Writing for The Guardian in 2019, Alexis Petridis listed the track at number 13 in a list of the 20 best UK garage tracks. Boylan also released the Da Grunge Mix of “All I Know” under the alias U.S. Alliance. Other notable songs released by the project included “Baby (You're So Sexy)”.
