Eileen Rose Giadone, also known as Eileen Rose, was born on January 31, 1965, in Saugus, Massachusetts, and is an American singer-songwriter known for her eclectic Americana music. She began writing songs as a teenager and taught herself to play the guitar. In 1991, she moved to the UK and fronted the indie-rock band Fledgling, which released one self-titled album in 1995. After Fledgling disbanded, she began performing solo and was approached by Rough Trade Records. Her debut album Shine Like It Does was released in 2000 and featured collaborations with members of Alabama 3 and Jerry Boys as producer. The song "Shining" from this album appeared in the Disney movie The Rookie. In 2002, her second album Long Shot Novena was released through Rough Trade in the UK and Compass Records in the US. Subsequent releases include At Our Tables (2008), Luna Turista (2009). and Be Many Gone (2014).
