The Octopus Project, an American experimental band from Austin, Texas, was formed in 1999 by Toto Miranda, Yvonne Lambert, and Josh Lambert. Their debut album, Identification Parade, was released in 2002 on Peek-A-Boo Records. The band gained further recognition with their third album, Hello, Avalanche, in 2007, which received critical acclaim from outlets like Pitchfork and Rolling Stone. They performed at major festivals including Coachella in 2006, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits Festival in 2008. In 2014, they won the Special Jury Award for Musical Score at the Sundance Film Festival for their work on Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter. The band has since scored several films, including Damsel (2018), Sasquatch Sunset (2024), and Alpha Gang (2026).
