Jaguar Love was an American post-punk and art punk band from Portland, Oregon, that formed in 2007. The group was founded by members of the bands The Blood Brothers and Pretty Girls Make Graves, including Johnny Whitney, Cody Votolato, and J. Clark. They signed to Matador Records in 2008 and released their first EP, Jaguar Love (2008) and the single “Highways of Gold” (2008). Their debut studio album, Take Me to the Sea, was released in 2008. The ensemble toured extensively throughout Europe and the United States, appearing at festivals such as T in the Park. In 2009, the group transitioned to a two-piece format consisting of Whitney and Votolato following the departure of Clark. After signing with Fat Possum Records, they released their second studio album, Hologram Jams in 2010. Their musical style incorporated elements of indie rock, baroque pop, and soul, and was influenced by artists such as Gang of Four and Jay-Z. The band became inactive in 2010.
