Spoonfed Hybrid was a British dream pop duo formed in 1993 in the north of England. The group consisted of Ian Masters and Chris Trout, who initially performed under the name the Long Lost. Masters had recently left Pale Saints, a band he founded in 1987, while Trout was previously the bass guitarist for A.C. Temple and had released solo material under the name Kilgore Trout. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1993 through Guernica, an offshoot label of 4AD. The album was notably produced by Duncan Wheat and featured the singles "Bullets and Bees" and "Messrs Hyde". Following the release of "Scary Valentine" in 1995 and Hibernation Shock in 1996, Spoonfed Hybrid became inactive.
