Nadia Yvonne López Ayuso, known mononymously as Nadia, was born on June 21, 1983, in Oaxaca de Juárez, Mexico. She began her musical journey at a young age, participating in various events including Fantasía Musical and studying at the National Institute of Fine Arts. Her breakthrough came in 2002 when she participated in the reality show La Academia, finishing in fifth place. Following this, Nadia released her debut album Nadia in 2003, featuring the hit single "Esta libertad," which topped the national charts. Notable collaborations include a duet with Yahir on "Contigo sí". Nadia has been recognized with awards such as the Oye! Award and the Eagle Award, and her album A puro dolor was nominated for a Grammy in 2009 in the Best Regional Mexican Album category.
