Louise Carver, born January 10, 1979, in Cape Town, South Africa, is a singer-songwriter and pianist. She began playing piano at age 11 and received her first recording contract at 15. Carver's debut single "It Don't Matter" was released in 1996 when she was 17, topping the South African National Campus Charts and peaking at number 3 on the National Top 40 Charts. Her debut album Mirrors and Windows followed in 1998. Carver's subsequent albums include Silent Scream (2005), Saved by the Moonlight (2007), and Look to the Edge (2010). Notable collaborations include "Sunrise" and "Crazy Enough" with house DJ Joe Bermudez, both of which reached Number 1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in 2016 and 2018, respectively. Carver's music has been praised for its edgy electronic/pop sound infused with South African rhythms and percussion.
