Yearning

Yearning was a doom metal band from Riihimäki, Finland, formed in 1994 under the name Flegeton by guitarist and singer Juhani Palomäki and drummer Tony Kristian. The band's early work included demos such as Through the Desolate Lands and The Temple of Sagal, which led to a contract with Holy Records. In 1997, they released their debut album, With Tragedies Adorned. The following year, they embarked on a European tour with bands like Nightfall and SUP, performing in countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France. Their second album, Plaintive Scenes, was released in 1999. Despite lineup changes, they continued to produce albums including Frore Meadow (2001), Evershade (2003), and Merging into Landscapes (2007). Yearning disbanded in 2010 following the death of Juhani Palomäki.
