Gabriele Mitelli, born on March 8, 1988 in Brescia, Italy, is a trumpeter, flugelhorn player, and composer known for his contributions to jazz. He began his musical journey with trumpet lessons in 2009, specializing in jazz trumpet by 2010. In 2011, Mitelli participated in the Siena Jazz seminars and performed at the Time in Jazz festival in Sardinia with his septet. His career progressed with notable collaborations, including performances at European festivals alongside musicians such as Mats Gustafsson and Wayne Horvitz. He co-founded the collective Heuristic Sonor Research and played with various artists like Ralph Alessi and Jeff Parker. Mitelli's debut album under his own name, The World Behind the Skin, was released in 2019 on We Insist! Records.
