Tristitia, a Swedish doom metal band formed in Halmstad in 1992, was founded by Chilean/Swedish guitarist Luis Beethoven Galvez. The band's early lineup included death/gothic style singer Thomas Karlsson and bassist Harri Juvonen. Tristitia released their first demo Winds of Sacrifice in 1993, followed by Reminiscences of the Mourner in 1994, which secured them a record deal with Holy Records. Their debut album One with Darkness was released in 1995. Subsequent albums included Crucidiction (1996) and The Last Grief (2000). In 2002, Tristitia released their fourth album Garden of Darkness, featuring death-style vocalist Stefan Persson. Galvez passed away on August 10, 2023, in Halmstad, Sweden.
